Reserves

Often professors will place materials on reserve.  This ensures equal access to the materials for all members of a class.  At Renfro Library, these materials are available at the Circulation Services Desk.  Most are available for three hours in the library building.

For Students: Using Reserve Items
Materials on reserve in the library are available at the Circulation Services Desk.  To borrow these items, you must have your current MHC ID with you.  Each reserve item has a reserve code, which specifies the length of time it can be borrowed, and whether it can be used outside the library.  Most items may be borrowed for 3 hours and are used in the library only.  Possible reserve codes are as follows:
  • A:  3-hour / in-library use only
  • Reserve items are checked out for use in the library in three hour time intervals.  Materials are not allowed to leave the library.
  • B:  3-hour / overnight
Reserve items are circulated for three hour time intervals during the day.  For overnight use, they may be checked out at 10:00pm and are due at 9:00am the following day.
  • C:  3-day
Materials are due 72 hours after they are checked out.
